🔒 Your files never leave your device
All image conversions are performed entirely inside your web browser using local processing. No files, images, or personal data are ever uploaded to our servers.
1. Overview
QuickConvert ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at quickconvert.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy is designed to be clear, transparent, and easy to understand. If you have any questions, please contact us at privacy@quickconvert.app.
2. Image Processing — Local Only
All image conversions are performed entirely within your web browser. When you use QuickConvert to convert an image:
- Your image files are never uploaded to our servers.
- Your image files are never transmitted over the internet during conversion.
- Conversion happens using browser-native APIs (Canvas API, FileReader API) on your local device.
- We have no technical ability to access, view, copy, or store any image you process using our tool.
- Files you convert remain 100% private on your device at all times.
This is a fundamental design decision — not just a policy commitment. The architecture of QuickConvert makes server-side image storage technically impossible.
3. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal details to use QuickConvert.
We may automatically collect limited non-personal technical information through standard web analytics:
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL, browser type, operating system, and device type.
- IP address: May be processed transiently by our hosting provider and analytics service for geo-location (country/region level) and security. We do not store or log full IP addresses.
- Cookies: See Section 5 for full details.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, payment information, login credentials, or any information that could directly identify you as an individual.
4. How We Use Information
The limited technical data we collect is used solely for:
- Understanding how visitors use the website (aggregate analytics) to improve the Service.
- Displaying relevant advertisements through Google AdSense (see Section 6).
- Diagnosing technical issues and ensuring site reliability and security.
- Complying with legal obligations where applicable.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties. We do not use your data for profiling, targeting, or any commercial purpose beyond the operation of this Service.
5. Cookies
QuickConvert uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser. We use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include session-related cookies set by Next.js.
- Analytics cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the website (e.g. Google Analytics, if enabled). These cookies collect data in an anonymised form.
- Advertising cookies: Set by Google AdSense to display relevant advertisements. These may track browsing behaviour across websites. See Section 6 for more information.
You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the conversion tools.
By continuing to use our website, you consent to our use of cookies as described above.
6. Google AdSense & Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this website. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may also opt out of third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
For more information about how Google uses data collected via its advertising services, please see Google's Privacy & Terms.
7. Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates or relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Netlify: Our hosting provider. Netlify may process server logs including IP addresses for security purposes. See Netlify Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense: Advertising platform. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts: Web fonts loaded from Google servers. Google may log font requests. See Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
8. Data Retention
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data retention policy applicable to individual users.
Server access logs maintained by our hosting provider (Netlify) may be retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes, in accordance with their own data retention policies.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to object: You can object to processing of your personal data.
- Right to restrict processing: You can request limitation of how we use your data.
As we do not collect personal data, exercising these rights may not yield any data. To make a request or ask questions, contact us at privacy@quickconvert.app.
10. Children's Privacy
QuickConvert is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we process. Our website is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption). As all image processing occurs locally in your browser, your files are inherently secure and never exposed to network transmission or server vulnerabilities during conversion.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
